Biography

Yasmine Benali is Lead Data Scientist at Hydro-Québec, where she develops geospatial predictive models for power grid optimization and outage forecasting. Her anomaly detection algorithms integrate satellite, meteorological and topographic data to anticipate risks across Hydro-Québec's 34,000 km of lines. She is the 2024 NRC Women in STEM Award winner.
